I just ran out of my old mascara, to be honest, I wasn’t in love with it, to begin with. My quest to find the perfect mascara was on!
First stop in finding the perfect mascara was understanding the different formulas. My main question was “Is all mascara created equal?”
The answer is a resounding NO!
Let’s talk formulas. There are fiber mascaras that place teeny tiny fibers onto the lashes to create length. Waterproof mascaras that eliminate the dreaded tear stained running mascara look. Smooth glide formulas that volumize the lashes. Hydrating formulas that condition the lashes.
One thing we can all agree on is that with any formula, the more coats, the lashes will look thicker, darker and fuller.
The real star of the show is actually the brush. I always wondered why there were so many different mascara wands. After all, their purpose was all the same…slap that mascara on and give me lashes for days!
Alas, in my research I found that the various brushes have different purposes. For one, there is a specifically designed brush for every natural lash type out there.
Lash types vary from curly and dense to sparse and short. Using the right mascara brush can make all the difference.
Tapered brushes make sure that you get every lash with precision from the inner to outer corner of the eye. Avon's Wash-Off Waterproof Mascara has a classic tapered brush. Just an added extra waterproof mascara is great for contact wearers. Less worrying about eye drops and watery eyes ruining your look.
I found the mascara for me that has it all. A traditional shaped plastic bristle brush that provides definition and less clumping. Lash hugging fibers to create length. A hydrating formula that strengthens and conditions lashes. Buildable volume that doesn't flake! Drum roll please...Avon True Color Love at 1st Lash Mascara. It does all the things!
